Am i not the daughter of a carpenter?
That shower moment —
you know, when a phrase or a question suddenly rises in your mind.
You don’t know where it’s heading,
but you just know:
it is,
and it will unfold… in its own time.
Sometimes the title comes first.
Sometimes the text.
But one thing I know for sure:
if the words aren’t written in front of me —
unfolding between my eyes and the movement of my fingers on the keyboard —
they’ll never find their way here.
They have to pass through the centre of the heart.
They must come from the depth of my soul.
“Am I not the daughter of a carpenter?”
my dad and i hiking together last year … 08.03.2024
A question that floats up
from the same simplicity that once shaped Jesus —
a simple man among the highly educated,
whose knowledge vanished in the light of a wisdom that came straight from Source.
Or whom he called "Father".
And to this day, the world still speaks of him…
though few ever truly understood.
They studied him with their minds,
but their hearts remained far from him.
I gaze upon my life —
this simple life I’ve chosen.
(Though… I don’t really believe in choice.
But elaborating on that will be for another time.
Still, if you already want to feel into it:
Can unconditional love truly exist
if the mind still believes it can choose?)
Many of these thoughts visit me under the shower —
where everything unnecessary rinses off,
including the dirty conditions the world tries to project onto us.
One thing I’ve come to admire deeply
about this simple life my soul leads me in,
is the way it invites creative living with finances.
I like that.
The fact that you can’t just do everything your mind desires,
but that you are gently drawn back
into surrender.
Into trust.
I don’t live in lack.
But I also don’t live in excess.
There is no overflow that would distract me
or tempt me away from the essence of Being.
And so — while writing this —
I begin to feel that this new blogpost
will speak more deeply about finances, about money,
and about the beautiful art
of soul-led simplicity.
More to come soon.
But for now,
this daughter of a carpenter needs to sleep
and recover from a 12-hour work weekend
(which I actually love, by the way 😉).

Money matters. Or… does it?
Nope.
Let’s rephrase that.
On the matters of money…
What has humanity done to make money matter so much?
Growing up with a deeply radical Christian background,
I can’t count how many times I heard that famous verse:
> “You cannot serve two masters.
Either you serve God…
or you serve Mammon.”
And so, living from the dualistic mind,
of course I wanted to serve God.
Dutifully. Entirely. With all my soul.
Until I grew so deeply into God
that I began to see:
this whole idea is a paradigm of the mind.
It’s not about two options.
That illusion — the either/or, the split —
has brainwashed our collective thinking.
What if…
I don’t need to serve anyone at all?
What if I simply am?
God.
And Mammon.
Both.
What if they were never separate to begin with?
---
Humanity, humanity…
How long must I put up with you?
Were those not the words of
the Son of Man?
Or the Son of God?
Or… the Daughter of God?
The Daughter of Women?
Who cares?
Many will fall over these words alone.
"How does she dare…
to speak of herself in the same breath as the Christ?"
Well.
One thing is for sure:
In his days,
they said the exact same thing
about him.
"How does he dare…?"
Some dare.
Some dare to say,
on the matter of money:
it doesn’t matter at all.
It’s just matter.
Paper.
Energy.
Like you.
Like me.

The Making Of…
Written from a humble factory bench,
between machines and movement,
(loud noise and music in my ears …)
where soul whispered in the midst of matter.

Yes, I write about the illusion of money…
from where it’s literally made:
a fries factory.
Fries + Philosophy = Flawless
gosh …
sending this chef’s kiss through my whatsapp to my sweet Joshua, mentioning:
"Honey ... just need this gif for my website ...”
and this was his reply!!!

Before we dig deeper —
a note on measuring
Let me start by saying this, loud and clear:
There is nothing to measure in the universe.
Nothing to compare.
Nothing to weigh.
But…
in order to speak about certain things — in this case: money and time —
I’ll have to use language that measures.
Not because the soul needs it,
but because the mind understands through comparison.
Our brains need contrast to recognise meaning.
It understands ‘0’ only because ‘1’ is not ‘0’.
And ‘1’ only because it isn’t ‘0’.
Ironically, both numbers mean nothing by themselves.
(Literally.)
As we say in Dutch:
“Eentje is geentje.”
(One is none.)
The brain — in its own beautiful design —
needs something to stand opposite something else
in order to learn, grow, and expand.
This is consciousness expanding within the illusion of time.
And seeing this… is already deep stuff.
The universe uses the illusion of time
to grow its own awareness of itself.
That’s why I prefer to say:
the mind doesn’t just work in duality —
it works in comparison.
Not everything is strictly black or white,
light or dark,
good or bad.
Mostly, it’s a mirror.
This in that.
That in this.
So let me repeat:
There is nothing to compare or measure
from the point of the universe.
But to explain things to a human brain,
using human words,
I’ll need the tools of comparison.
It’s not the Truth.
(The Truth cannot be spoken.)
But it helps us
point to it.
🌿 Reader's Note
Please don’t get stuck in the words, the symbols or the counting.
What follows is written in human language —
but born from silence.
Let it wash over you.
Not everything is meant to be understood.
Some things are simply meant to resonate.
I love this job.
And yes — people can laugh as hard as they want.
But when there’s time left over…
I just sit here and write to you.
Right here, from this blog.
In the middle of the noise,
the machines,
the yellow floor,
the ordinary flow of work.
And somehow…
truth still whispers.
And I answer.

THE LITTLE THINGS OF LIFE
THAT MAKE ME SMILE
My favorite: amaryllis
My favorite greek word: το λουλούδι
Happy new month, everyone!!
1 of April, always lovely!
My beloved,
there are so many things I long to write about —
and honestly, I don’t even know where to begin.
Sometimes I wish I didn’t need bodily rest,
so I could just write and write and write…
But then — I stop.
I take a breath.
I take distance.
And I remember:
nothing ever comes outside its perfect timing.
Just pause.
Take time to breathe.
Take time to stop.
Take time to watch.
In this world, we’re often encouraged to just go on and on,
to keep pushing, keep performing…
and so few are given the space
to simply breathe.
So if there’s one thing I could tell you today,
it would be this:
Stop.
Pause.
Withdraw.
And watch yourself.
Not with judgment —
but with wonder.
"This… is where I am right now."

on one of my many walks in Ypres …
“Quiet consistency over time holds more authority
than even the most powerful words.”
One of life’s quietest consistencies
is found in the times and seasons of nature.
They never speak —
and yet their wisdom is always present.
Still, humanity finds ever-creative ways
to not see.
(imagine that … lol 😉)
Back to the Illusion of Time
— and an Even Greater One: Money
(If you haven’t read the previous section yet — the one about how the brain works in comparison — know that I’ve received new insights about that too…
but I’ll leave those for another time.)
Let me start with this, clearly and directly:
You can see how conscious a person is
by the degree to which they live outside the illusion of time,
and how deeply they have undone themselves from the illusion of money.
And NO —
I’m not talking about nice words floating around the internet.
I’m not talking about catchy video content or spiritual soundbites.
I’m talking about people who live what they speak.
Who embody what they share.
And to be honest —
I’ve found almost no one who has truly come to that point:
undone from the illusion of time
and truly free from the illusion of money.
And YES —
it demands full surrender to the soul.
(To be honest, I’ve never seen another way in this human experience.)
This, again, is only an introduction
to a powerful truth that is still to come.
And though I’d honestly prefer not to write about time and money —
because from the soul’s point of view,
they don’t matter —
I know I must.
Because humanity has wrapped itself in layers of illusion —
especially in the West —
capitalist, socialist, whatever ‘-ist’...
they are all soaked in the false power of money.
And so I feel I have no choice
but to dig deeper into this topic
and call out to the soul of humanity:
Rise above this.
Yes —
I’m speaking here of a measure of consciousness.
It’s almost as if I can feel exactly where someone is on their path
just by listening to how they speak and act
about time and money.
But let me also recall what I said earlier:
From the eye of the Universe,
there is no measure.
Still —
to reach the human heart,
to awaken the soul inside this illusion —
I must use the tools of comparison.
And so I plant these words as seeds.
In a season.
Yes, I know —
planting seeds in a season implies time…
which we are still confronted with
as long as we wear these bodies.
But your soul —
your soul lives outside of all of it.
